MTNL and BSNL heat up the price war in the telecom space with new tariff plans, priced at Rs 319 and Rs 249 respectively.
With Reliance Jio Prime Membership program expiring today, rival telecom operators have introduced new data plans to woo subscribers. While Idea today launched a ’1GB of 4G data per day’ plan, state run telcos MTNL and BSNL have also joined the bandwagon. MTNL is now offering 2GB of 3G data per day for Rs 319. The plan is available from April 1. BSNL, on the other hand, is offering 10GB of data under an ‘Unlimited Broadband at Rs 249’ plan.
Under MTNL’s Rs 319 plan, users get 2GB of 3G data per day along with unlimited voice calls within MTNL network. The plan is valid for 28 days. MTNL customers would have to recharge with the same value for the subsequent month if they wish to continue with the tariff plan. The Rs 319 plan is presently available for MTNL customers in Delhi and Mumbai circles.
“This promotional offer is valid for 90 days. MTNL customers will also get 25 minutes of free call to other networks everyday and after that they will be charged 25 paise for a minute phone call,” the operator further revealed.
BSNL’s Rs 249 plan, alongside the 10GB data per day, would also offer unlimited free calls to any network between 9AM to 7AM on Sundays. “BSNL is the only operator who is offering cheapest “10 GB per day” data download plan under wireline Broadband services in the country,” said NK Gupta, Director (NFA) BSNL Board.
