Bharti Airtel will offer free unlimited data service for one year to buyers of Micromax Canvas 2 smartphone that has been launched on Thursday. The smartphone has been priced by the company at Rs. 11,999 and will be made available at retail outlets across the country from Wednesday, May 17.
Speaking on the launch Shubhajit Sen, Chief Marketing Officer, Micromax said "Micromax Canvas 2 will come with one year of unlimited Airtel to Airtel calling, unlimited data at no extra cost for both existing and new Airtel customers."
Under the collaboration, Airtel will offer 1GB of 4G data every day and thereafter the speed will get reduced .Users can also avail 400 minutes of calling per day on any local network, with a weekly limit of 1,500 minutes. Micromax Canvas 2 will be sold only through offline retail channel.
In terms of connectivity, the new Canvas 2 (2017) offers options including 4G VoLTE connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, and GPS. It houses a 3050mAh battery and will be made available in Champagne and Black colours. Micromax is also offering a '1-year screen replacement promise' with the Canvas 2 (2017), applicable from the date of activation.
Specifications wise, the smartphone runs on a MediaTek quad core chipset paired with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 64GB using a microSD card. The company also plans to launch 15 more smartphone in the same price bracket in the coming days.
